GCSE TUITION IN MATHS, ENGLISH
& SCIENCE
Focused support for students in Years 9–11, with expert tuition in GCSE Maths, English and Science. Whether your child needs to secure a pass grade or push from a 6 to an 8 or 9, we provide structured teaching, plenty of exam practice and regular feedback – with each student following an individual programme matched to their school’s exam board.
Who is the GCSE tuition for?
Our GCSE tuition is designed for students in Years 9, 10 and 11 who want targeted help in Maths, English or Science. We support:
Students who need to secure a strong pass
Students aiming for top grades (7–9)
Students who lack confidence or have gaps from earlier years
Students who need help organising their revision and exam technique
Every student begins with an assessment so we can understand their starting point, school targets and exam goals.
What we cover in GCSE Maths, English & Science
We follow the national curriculum and support students across the main GCSE exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and others. Our focus is on understanding, practice and exam confidence – not just memorising answers.
Maths
• Number, algebra, ratio, geometry and statistics
• Problem‑solving and multi‑step questions
• Calculator and non‑calculator paper techniques
• Working with past papers and exam‑style questions

English Language & Literature
• Reading comprehension and analysis
• Writing for different purposes (narrative, transactional, descriptive)
• Essay structure, planning and timing
• Approaching unseen texts and key Literature texts studied in school

Science (Combined and Separate Sciences)
• Core concepts in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Applying knowledge to practical and data‑handling questions
• Understanding command words (“describe”, “explain”, “evaluate”)
• Revision and exam strategies for multiple papers
In every subject, we focus on exam technique as well as subject knowledge – how to unpack questions, show working clearly and use time effectively in the exam.

How our GCSE tuition works
GCSE lessons take place in small groups at our centres. Each student follows an individual learning programme based on their current level, school syllabus and exam board.

• Weekly lessons in your chosen subjects (Maths, English and/or Science)
• Structured One Learning booklets and targeted worksheets
• Regular topic tests and exam‑style questions
• Mock exam practice in the run‑up to GCSEs
• Weekly homework, marked and explained in class
• Regular feedback for parents on progress and next steps
GCSE progress and success
Our GCSE students often see significant improvements in both confidence and grades. Some join us in Year 9 or 10 to build strong foundations, while others come in Year 11 for focused preparation in the run‑up to exams.

One parent recently told us:
“My son jumped from a predicted Grade 5 to a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths! The teachers truly understand how children learn.”
– Sarah, parent

We aim to help every student move beyond their school predictions and achieve the very best outcomes they can.

GCSE assessment and starting point
Every new GCSE student begins with a 1.5‑hour assessment, including a short discussion about school targets and specific concerns. This helps us:

-
Identify strengths and gaps in key topics
-
Understand the exam board and tier they are working towards
-
Agree clear goals for the months ahead
There is a one‑off assessment fee, but if you decide to continue and pay for the first month of tuition, we discount one week’s lessons, so the assessment cost is effectively covered in your first month – the same approach we use across all our programmes.
In-centre and online GCSE tuition.
